My husband, Biswajit Sankar Dasgupta (age 62) was suddenly diagnosed with Hepatocellular Carcinoma (Liver Cancer) along with NASH related Decompensated Cirrhosis and Portal Hypertension-Ascites in late March this year. He is already a patient of Diabetes and Hypertension and after having been hit by all these diseases, he had to be hospitalized twice in March and April and again in July at the Institute of Liver and Digestive Sciences in Kolkata.
With the combination of complicated illnesses and each hospitalization, we have exhausted all of our financial reserves. We have two mentally challenged children, our daughter Sayani Dasgupta (in the pic above with her father, age 29) and our son Rohit Dasgupta (age 27) who both need continuous medical treatment, care, and protection. In a family where my husband was the only earning member before he retired, you can imagine what a financial challenge these illnesses have thrown us in. My children have been dealt a difficult life, the least I can do for them is help save their father and save their family.
We have already incurred bills of over Rs. 3 lakhs, not including the constant outpatient treatment and care that my husband needs. Our pension, savings, financial help from friends, and families are all exhausted and we turn to you for help. This disease is an ongoing challenge for us, which requires frequent hospitalization and constant medical treatment. Coupled with this is the financial expenses for my children’s medical needs. Without your financial support, I will not be able to continue the treatment for my husband or my children.
Please come forward to support us in any way you can. Any contribution will be of immense help and will help my family and my children survive this challenging time. Do contribute and share this campaign link with your friends and family. Thank you so very much.
