Story

I am Danish Pandita, a 3rd-year IT student in DTU/DCE studying on a Scholarship here.
My father Ram Krishan suffering from Liver Cirrhosis which is End-Stage Liver Disease is in a very critical situation and kept in Liver ICU in PGI Chandigarh. Doctors have suggested Liver Transplant as the only option to save his life.

Family Condition : My father is a translator earning a meager Rs. 2,20,000 per annum  from all sources. My elder brother  who is doing the job from around one year earns Rs. 25000 per month. He is on Leave without Pay from the last 2 & 1/2 months to be there as a caretaker for Papa. We have no Health Insurance and negligible savings of a few thousand. Neither do we have any property. We are left at the brim of mortgage our house for the Transplant.

Background: We are basically Kashmiri Migrants. My father did not get any permanent job over the years, so he ran the house with a minimal income of 13000 per month. My mother expired in 2009. My father is the only support for me and my brother.

Estimated Cost: In PGI, which is a government hospital, doctors have said the cost of a transplant can go up to Rs. 25 Lakhs plus the cost of medication would be 40000 per month at least for two years. The bedding charges to keep in Private ward to avoid infection to which such patients are highly susceptible is Rs. 2000 per day. The daily expenses for medicines which includes 20% 100ml albumin and other injections incur a cost of Rs. 7-8 thousand per day. If we estimate the total expenses, total charges go to a mammoth 40-45 Lakhs in PGI Government Hospital. (charges include as explained in above lines ).
Organ Donation: It is the second problem we are facing in PGI as they only do Deceased Donor Liver Transplant ( DDLT ) which means they cannot start the transplant till they do not find some patient who goes brain-dead in the same hospital and at the same time that patient should have given consent for his/her Liver donation.
PGI does not do Living Donor Liver Transplant ( LDLT ) which means we are left only at the helm of going to a private hospital like Apollo to save life of my father where either I or my brother will donate our liver for LDLT.
The total cost in Private hospital which includes pre and post-transplant expenses apart from fees of the surgeon which is 20-21 lakhs would fall around 50-55 Lakhs in Private Hospital.

HUMBLE REQUEST TO EVERYONE TO KINDLY HELP US IN THIS SITUATION BY DONATIONS TO CURE MY FATHER AT EARLIEST. THESE DONATION WILL BE ENTIRELY USED FOR TREATMENT OF MY FATHER.

I SHALL TRY TO PAY BACK TO SOCIETY AND NATION IN FUTURE IN BEST OF MY CAPACITY
