Story

One in 500 people in India are diagnosed with Autism. For the past three years, we have been associated with Biswa Gouri Charitable Trust. As volunteers, we work with kids and adults, who have learning and social disabilities. Our objective is to help them with their cognitive abilities,up-skill them, make them more employable and help them feel happy, engaged and confident overall!
Since March 2020, we have personally witnessed how the skill development program at the centre has been severely impacted due to the pandemic. Also, the corporate funding has shrunk and is just not enough which has made matters worse. Due to Covid19 restrictions, these individuals can’t come to the centre, which is depriving them of learning opportunities.
To address these issues, we are reaching out to you through this campaign. As part of this, our plan is to assemble and distribute the following on a monthly basis
  • Hospitality training kits
  • Home gardening kits
  • Art kits
  • Sanitization kits
  • We also plan to set up online accounts for digital online reading program which is graded and caters to all levels
For this campaign, we will cover costs of 25 under privileged individuals with Autism, which totals Rs. 22,000 per person for a year.
Please feel free to contribute any amount. We assure you that every bit counts! We will keep you posted with how every unit of donation is utilized. Stay tuned. The centre has passionate and trained staff- special educators and teachers to train students both at the centre and virtually via online classroom.
