This is for my friend/colleague, Bhanu Prakash Karnam. A very positive and humble person from a modest background, he is a doting father to two toddlers, loving husband to his wife and caring son to his parents and parents-in-law. The family of 8 stay together in Bangalore.
On 1st May 2021, Bhanu had fever and post tests was detected Covid +ve. On further testing, his parents and parents-in-law were also +ve. Bhanu was under home isolation and was doing fine till 6th May. That's the last I talked to him. From the next day his condition started deteriorating and last Saturday, the 8th May, early morning his oxygen levels started dropping. By the time he was admitted in the hospital, the SPO2 level was at 30. His HRCT is reported 17/25 which is severe. He was diagnosed with Novel Coronavirus-Infected Pneumonia (NCIP). Since then he is on ventilator support. Doctors have tried all possible therapies/medications and since yesterday has put him on ECMO.
If ECMO doesn't help in Bhanu's recovery then the only option left as recommended by doctors is Lung Transplant. This would have to be done at Chennai and costs more than INR 1 Crore (USD 135,000).
Bhanu is the only earning member of the family. His wife, Meenakshi, who is running pillar to pole to save her husband, is the beneficiary of this fund raiser. Until now, we've spent about Rs. 4,50,000. We've arranged the amount from savings & loans.
I humbly request you to find it in your heart to Save & Support Bhanu!!!
With all my gratitude,
