Reshma was 7 months pregnant when doctors revealed that she was HIV+. Her world almost came to an end. She had to undergo a complicated heart surgery urgently, take proper medications to prevent her son from being HIV+ and face a lot of discrimination with hospitals refusing to operate due to her medical state. With tears in her eyes she said “At that moment, all I wanted is my son to see this world. I didn’t want him to suffer for no fault of his”. Reshma wanted to give him the best education so that he is able to stand on his feet. Working for a meagre salary of 400rs per month, this was almost next to impossible.
Extremely intelligent children caught up in their parent’s economic struggle have to deal with difficult situation each day. Chitra daughter of a farmer with an annual income of 35000 had a similar story. She scored 98% in her second PU, and wanted to pursue BCOM+CA . But the college fees is twice their total incomeL
The Ramlan Foundation® is in a mission to help such individuals through our flagship program – Chiguru. The foundation sponsors education of poorest of poor till they get their first job. Till date we have helped 16 students, out of which 4 are successfully employed after completing education. We also help our students in the current online environment by sponsoring smart tabs and WIFI connections at home. Our students otherwise had to walk miles to access a good internet facility for online classes.
With shortage of funds, and ever-increasing demand for sponsorship we are finding it difficult to sustain. Like you all know, we commit to provide education until they get their first job, and this is a big commitment.
Is education the only sector where we help? NO – infact in the last 7 years the Ramlan Foundation® has launched more than 75+ initiatives, touching upon 10,000+ lives.
From Covid relief programs, fulfil a wish drive at old age home to Children for Charity programs and Housing projects we have tried to make a difference to help the community in various ways.
But for us to be able to scale up, we really need your contribution. We can ensure that 100% of your funds will be used to serve the underprivileged. We are a registered trust in the eyes of law, and all the funding’s are audited by Chartered Accountants.
