As I am writing this, I keep thinking of my friend Felix Daniel who met me on the road and left and returned to the next bend and within five minutes died. Only then did I realize that even dead human bodies would be viewed as commodities.
When the friend lay in the middle of the road 108 ambulances refused to accept the dead body.
The private ambulance services started bargaining to pick up bodies, and no other go based on the demand has been agreed upon.
This became the reason to start funeral executives as a project of Karuvi Arakkattalai. Through this program, homeless and sick who have no family to claim them are identified and provided with a proper funeral and cremation service. Funeral Executives through its volunteer wing take measures in preparation of the body, transportation, clothing, casket, coffin box and coordination of the funeral service.
We are planning to utilize the funds in the following manner:
1)To buy land
2)To build crematorium
3) For Registration
4) To get NOC and other Government licenses.
Karuvi trust is a registered as a not-for- profit organization. It’s a non-political,non-religious organization. Its business is to unite with people in India in order to do development in the broadest sense through the discharge of the games that aim at transferring knowledge, expertise and capacity to existents and communities who need backing to come out of poverty and other dehumanizing conditions.
To make our initiative a success, we would need your help and support. Please share and support for the cause!
