My little brother is 20 years old and his name is Bedanta Gogoi. We are living in Silakuti Konwar of District Sivasagar, which is a small village situated in Assam. Suddenly one day he began to vomit while he consuming food and his whole body swelled up from normal to abnormal in size. I and my parents were frightened, while we saw him in such a condition. Suddenly we rushed him to Assam Medical College Hospital, where doctors recommended us to admit him in ICU. After completion of medical tests, Doctor told us that he is diagnosed with kidney failure and he had lost both his kidneys. Doctor also told us that his Creatinine level was only 33% and he need dialysis to be undertaken as soon as possible. My parents got fainted while hearing such condition of their child.
Several days and months gone, after a long time, while undergone through more than 30 dialysis, the Nephrology head told us that his kidney need to transplant because his both kidney has been damaged and dialysis could not be sufficient and be taken longer to keep the patient alive. We belong to a lower middle class family and had spent all our savings on his treatment by then. But by the grace of God and family member's help, somehow we managed to take him to Kolkata and admitted him to Rabindranath Tagore International Institute of Cardiac Sciences. Here my brother is going through three dialysis per week. So after a long conversation among us regarding the matter, my father decided to give one of his kidney to him in order to save him. All the medical tests were done which matched successfully. But doctor also told us that, patient's treatment including kidney transplant surgery will cost around 5 lakhs 35 thousand, which became such a serious concern for us, because we are not financially stable enough to effort such a treatment. So we decided to raise fund because we won't be able to take his treatment forward without your help and support.
So, it is a humble request from my parents and myself to join our effort to save my little brother and contribute towards his recovery.
