My Brother Was Hit by a Truck from Behind — He Lost His Leg and Is Now Fighting for His Life. Please Help Us.
My name is Pratap Kumar Choudhury, and I’m raising funds for my elder brother, Bappaditya Choudhury, who met with a life-shattering accident on 7th July 2025. A truck rammed into him from behind while he was on his bike. He was critically injured and rushed to Apollo Multispeciality Hospital, Kolkata in an emergency.
The impact caused multiple organ injuries, including severe damage to his kidneys. Despite several surgeries, doctors had no choice but to completely amputate his left leg from the hip joint. On July 11, he also suffered a stroke due to complications.
Doctors have projected a treatment cost of ₹1 crore. So far, we’ve only managed to arrange ₹3 lakhs. His office insurance covers only ₹2 lakhs, and he has no other personal mediclaim to fall back on.
Bappaditya is the sole breadwinner for his family—his wife (a homemaker), a 1.5-year-old son, and elderly dependent parents. He comes from a very humble background and has no financial reserves to meet the spiraling medical expenses.
Your contribution will help cover:
Critical care and ICU charges
Post-operative trauma and stroke recovery
Rehabilitation for total limb loss and organ damage

Bappaditya Choudhury remains critical despite undergoing four major surgeries, including the amputation of his left limb up to the level of the navel. The devastating road accident caused extensive internal injuries. His kidneys have been severely affected, and his body continues to battle high levels of infection due to the toxins released from the trauma.
A tracheostomy was performed on July 19 to help him breathe more efficiently. On July 21, another surgery is planned — plastic surgery to cover the open wounds caused by the amputation.
Though his condition is currently stable, Bappaditya remains unconscious and in critical condition, with multiple sources of infection posing serious challenges.
We are deeply grateful for your support. Your contributions are helping us keep him fighting. Please continue to donate and keep Bappaditya in your prayers.
🙏 Please donate whatever you can. Share this appeal. Help us give him a second chance at life. No amount is too small, and every prayer counts.
