I am Baljeet Kaur, 26 years old, female; I am from a small village where people in my village told me, I couldn’t do something, because I am a girl I always asked – why not?
During my early school and college days I never missed participating in sports like Hockey, volleyball and 100m race and won many prizes.but In 2015, I got an opportunity to participate in India's first NCC girl's expedition to Mt. Everest in 2016.

It was a yearlong training cum selection camp. During this process I got introduced to the field of mountaineering and I learned the skills and gained knowledge about planning and climbing Technical Mountain. I also did a Basic Mountaineering Course from Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, Darjeeling with A+ grading and did Expedition to 6000m and 7000m peaks during the first phase of the selection process.
In the second phase I went for a month-long training to Siachen glacier during the peak winters of 2016. At the end of this selection process 10 girls from all over the country were shortlisted and I was one of them.

On my final push for the summit of Mt. Everest around 8,548m I had an issue in my Oxygen mask and the supply of oxygen gradually stopped. Me and my Sherpa did our best to fix the issue but couldn't succeed.

I was just 300m away from the summit of EVEREST but I had to take the decision to abandon my attempt and turned around from 8,548m. I returned with a promise that I’ll come back again to stand on its summit one day.

After coming back from the expedition I decided to improve my skills and knowledge about mountaineering, so I enrolled for the Advance Mountaineering Course and completed that with A+ grading from Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Mountaineering and Allied Sports, Manali in 2017. Then I did the Basic to Advance level ski course from ABVIMAS, Manali in 2018.

In July 2019, I again got an opportunity to fulfill my dream of climbing Everest as the IMF's Everest Massif Expedition in 2020. I applied for the expedition and got shortlisted for one of the peaks in the Everest massif region name Mt. Pumori (7,161m) after almost eight months of hard training cum selection camp. During this camp I attempted 5,000m and 7000m peaks. But due to COVID pandemic the expedition couldn't be conducted in 2020 and shifted in 2021.

On a bright sunny morning of 12th May 2021 around 8:35 am, I stood on the top of Mt. Pumori (7,161m) and became the first Indian woman to do so.

After Mt.Pumori I decided to go Mt. Kun in August for pre Mt. Dhaulagiri Expedition’s training. And I successfully scaled Mt kun in august and went to Mt Dhaulagiri Expedition in September...

On 1 October I summited Mt Dhaulagiri and reported to be the first Indian girl on Mt Dhaulagiri.

For the NCC’s Mt. Everest Expedition 2016 I was honored with a RAKSHA MANTRI AWARD in 2017.

COST ESTIMATES FOR EXPEDITION & AGENCY DETAIL’S
From the past six years I have gained experience and knowledge in the field of Mountain climbing and honed my skills of climbing technical peaks. I now wish to climb 6,000m, 7,000m and 8,000m technical peaks in the coming years. Yes I am having my route to become a professional Mountaineer and grow as an athlete.

My Goal for this coming spring season is to Climb world height peak on the earth Mount Everest 8848m.

Mount Everest attracts many climbers, including highly experienced mountaineers. There are two main climbing routes, one approaching the summit from the southeast in Nepal (known as the "standard route") and the other from the north in Tibet. While not posing substantial technical climbing challenges on the standard route, Everest presents dangers such as altitude sickness, weather, and wind, as well as significant hazards from avalanches and the Khumbu Icefall. As of 2019, over 300 people have died on Everest, many of whose bodies remain on the mountain.Mt Everest is the highest peak in the world. (8848m).

Difficulties
People lose their lives on these peaks due to extreme cold, hurricane-force wind, avalanches, crevasse and low oxygen levels (about a third of the oxygen in the atmosphere at sea level), but many people have climbed these peaks. Their ame has been recorded in history. To face all these difficulties very hard training is required that's why I am climbing continue peaks and will also do special winter training in January.
