Dear Friends and Colleagues,

It is with a heavy heart that we share the tragic news of the passing of our dear friend and colleague, Balaji Panchanathan, who left us on March 9th, 2025, at the age of 45, due to a cardiac arrest while participating in a triathlon. Balaji was the Product Management Lead in Microsoft Azure India.
Balaji was a hardworking, passionate, and kind human being who was loved by his family, friends, and colleagues. Soft-spoken yet impactful, Balaji was genuine in his approach and dedicated to supporting those around him. He had a unique ability to find solutions and lift others up, making the team stronger with his presence. His warmth, kindness, and inspiring presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of working with him.
Balaji grew up in Chennai and completed his Bachelor's in ECE from Anna University Chennai (1998-2002). He had a distinguished 23-year career in IT, working with companies like Microsoft, Citrix, and Dell. He also earned his Executive MBA from IIM Calcutta in 2011-12. Outside of work, Balaji enjoyed spending time with his family, taking part in sports and fitness activities, and teaching maths to underprivileged children.
Balaji leaves behind his wife, Mohana, who is currently unemployed, and their two young children, Rishee (12) and Kayal (6). His sudden demise has come as a shock to his family, and his wife is left with the difficult task of raising two young children without a job.
To support Balaji's family during this difficult time, we are aiming to raise funds to cover the education expenses for both his children over the next 16 years.
