Dear friends and dogs lovers. I am Debadrita,the new mom of Bagheera. He is the apple of my eye. He is a very sweet boy. I have adpted him from an NGO. When I saw his pictures floating in social media, I knew in my heart that I had to save him. Immediately I went ahead and did all the formalities for adoption and brought him home. When I adopted him, he had severe skin infection and Mange all over his body. He was scared and looked unwell. I took him to vet immediately and did all the necessary treatment required for his skin and better health. A few days later I did a routine full body test for himand he was diagnosed with Tick Fever and very low platelet count along with some issues in his liver and kindey aslo. I am doing his treatment and trying my best to make him healthy.
But there are times when he gets really aggressive towards my other dog and my husband. He has already bitten the puppy dog twice and drew blood.
As per the vet, Bagheera is in deep trauma of being abandoned and living on the streets and may have developed fear of other dogs and to defend himself he is showing agreession. And this I understand this is expected from an abandoned dog who has been on the street. He may have been hungry. He may have been beaten by people , he may have been attacked by other dogs also. My vet recommended Behaviour Therapy and training to help with the aggression and behaviour issues. It will take away his trauma and both dogs can live happily unleashed.
I have already spent quiet some amount of money ( about INR 20000)and currently out of funds to put him through therapy which will cost INR 35000. And there will be more expenses towards his medical treatment which I am not aware as of now.
I don't want to give up on him for the lack of fund.
It's been over a month he is living with us and he has accepted us as family and accepted the house as him home. If I give up on him now, it will only deepen his trauma. Also I will have no control ovet what happens in his life next. I am raising fund so that I have enough money to take him through the therapy so that I erases all the bad memory he has and he can live happily with us for the rest of his life.
Please help me to help Bagheera with a second chance in life to be healthy, happy and live under my love and protection.
We both have developed a very deep bonding for each other. We will be heart broken without each other. We all deserve a second chance in life.
