After Losing One Twin, Poor Father Struggles To Save The Other

"When I lost one of my twins, I was devastated. What helped me fight that feeling was that I remembered my wife and my other baby who was fighting for his life. I asked myself, "Who do I want to be? Do I want to be the kind of person who fights till the end for the family or am I going to let this defeat me before it's even started?" I chose the first option and I'm still struggling to save my only surviving child and protecting my wife from not falling into depression. When my wife can finally hold our baby in her arms, I'll have to gather my strength and tell her about the baby we lost." - Bhikshapathi,  Father.

A seemingly healthy pregnancy turned out to be complicated

Mamatha and her husband Bhikshapathi, a young and happy couple were excited about the arrival of their twins. They did not miss any of the appointments with the doctors and made sure she had healthy food. Bhikshapathi used to come early from his work and take care of his wife. During the 7th month of pregnancy, Mamatha had a high fever and unexpectedly in the middle of the night, she went into early labour pain. Bhikshapathi rushed her to a government hospital in his village in Telengana. After hours of struggle and pain, Mamatha gave birth to twin boys.

"The doctors asked us to take our twins to a hospital in Hyderabad. My wife was still lying unconscious. I had to leave her alone and took my babies to another hospital in the ambulance. The very next day, I lost one of my twins and I was devastated. I had no other choice but to remain strong for my wife and my other twin. My only hope is that I'll take this baby home." - Bhikshapathi.

"My only hope in life is my baby, he needs 3 more weeks of NICU stay to survive"

The only surviving baby of Mamatha is severely underweight and has breathing trouble. The baby is in the NICU on ventilator support and needs 3 more weeks of hospital stay to recover completely. Mamatha was discharged after a week and she broke into tears when she saw her baby fitted with tubes everywhere and struggling to breathe. The only surviving baby of Mamatha is severely underweight and has breathing trouble. Baby is in NICU with ventilator support and needs 3 more weeks of hospital stay to recover completely. Mamatha is yet to recover from the c section and she still has not come to terms with all that has happened.  Bhikshapathi felt it must be overwhelming for her to hear about the loss of their baby at this point in time and he is struggling to keep the terrible news away from her.

"My wife is begging me to take her to see the other baby, I have told her that we are not allowed see because of risk of infections. I cannot imagine what will happen to her, if I tell her the truth." -  Bhikshapathi.

"I don't know what I can do, every passing minute feels like hell. I cannot imagine losing this baby also. I can never forgive myself and I will never have strength to see my wife if I fail to save my baby." -  Bhikshapathi.
