Hi, My name is Afifa, my mother has seen one of the toughest times in her life- from losing her two sons when they were very young, to struggling to raise me and my other siblings and to ensure she gave us everything even while she struggled silently through all this. She is my everything and today seeing her struggle for every breath to live is something I wasn't prepared for.
My mother, Ayesha Afsar contracted covid two weeks ago. We managed to procure an oxygen cylinder at home and she was stabilizing. However, we couldn't find a refill for more than 12hours and her health condition deteriorated. A week ago her saturation dipped to 40 and we had to rush her to the hospital. We almost lost her that day, however, her will to fight and be brave continues even through this battle in life.
Currently, I am raising money for my mother, who is 72 years-old, and is critically ill due to Covid complications. She is right now in ICU attached to a BiPap machine and she is serious. Due to this virus, she has lungs filled with water which is deteriorating her health further. If her health doesn't improve we will have to move her on to a ventilator.
Our family is unable to pay the hospital bills and my mum will be in the hospital for a couple of weeks due to her situation. The current hospital bill is Rs. 55,000 per day (750USD+ per day) which as you know is quite high even for someone who has a regular income in India. Currently, we have already spent close to 4.90lacs (6689 USD) on her treatment at home & at the hospital
My brother had lost his job and I had to stop working due to a personal medical emergency at home. From my end as well I am totally helpless.
Like many families, pandemic affected our income massively and we were not at all prepared for this expense.
We have already exhausted all our life savings to pay right now. We have taken debts from relatives and family. We have also taken a loan on the gold we had for the treatment. However, it's not enough.
I am raising money for my mum and we are really struggling and any amount would be helpful to save her life right now and give her the resources so that she can get the right treatment in order to survive.
