We are a team of four students from different streams of IIT (BHU) Varanasi and have a started an initiative to revolutionize the logistics industry in India, by making it fast and affordable. With a vigor for social entrepreneurship, we decided to combat India's biggest problem 'Youth Unemployment'. Keeping this in view, we have founded Speedofy - A logistics based company which provides express and cost-effective delivery services at the same time.
Our team is the On-Campus winner of this year's Hult Prize BHU. The winner gets to represent his institute and the nation at the Hult Prize Regional Finals. Hult Prize is the largest global social entrepreneurship event , organised by Hult International Business School, UK and funded by Bill Clinton Foundation.
We desperately need your assistance to help us reach Hult Prize Kuala Lumpur Regional Finals and get the golden opportunity for $1 Million seed funding!
BACKGROUND
There are many logistic companies in India, including FedEx, Delhivery, etc. But none of these promise express delivery and cost-effectiveness at the same time to the people who want to send their parcels.
Now, for example, I did not plan on any traditional event and left my ethnic wear at home (Noida). Suppose that I am invited for a wedding tomorrow in Varanasi, I desperately need an ethnic wear.
And so our company Speedofy offers the best solution present at hand.
Luggage Sharing.
So the Idea here is, If Ria wants to deliver a parcel from Delhi to Bengaluru and Rahul is flying from Delhi to Bengaluru. Speedofy will match Rahul and Ria, if Rahul wishes to share his empty luggage space.
The parcel will be door picked, scanned and packed at the airport. Our staff will accompany Rahul from our desk to check in counter with the parcel and also the parcel will be collected and delivered to the destination by our team.
Speedofy not only provides cheap and quick delivery, but at the same time caters to the third party, which is the community of flight passengers by giving them incentives.
The best part about Speedofy is that 85% of workforce will comprise of delivery men, which contributes to youth employment of the country with no additional skill training. Moreover, this project will also lead to reduction of fuel and resource wastage in the aviation industry.
PROGRESS REPORT
The Hult Prize has been called the “Nobel Prize for Students”, hosted by the Hult International Business School in collaboration with the Clinton Foundation. It has recently been named as one of the top five ideas changing the world by Times Magazine. The competition gives socially-minded for-profit entrepreneurs a shot at $1 Million in seed funding and the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to present to President Bill Clinton. The Hult Prize, 2019 edition has issued a problem statement about providing “sustainable and meaningful employment” for 10,000 youths over the next decade, making it the ideal platform for us to pitch our venture and make a difference.
From over 113 innovation driven on-campus participating teams, we were crowned the 1st position. Passing through the regional rounds will give us the opportunity to go to the Hult Foundation incubator at Ashridge Castle, which has been the home of many incredible ventures such as Sweet Bites, Magic Bus and Tembo, all of which have driven positive change in society. The incubator will give us access to a gamut of resources and mentorship from the best in the world, helping us take our venture to the next level.
ESTIMATED EXPENDITURE
Belonging to middle class families, we are facing financial issues for the trip. We are highly enthusiastic about this opportunity and don't want to miss it due to lack of funds.
Expenses per individual is as follows:
Flight Tickets (Round trip) - 20,800 INR
Visa - 2,100 INR
Accomodation - 3,400 INR
Total Cost/person - 26,300 INR
Total Cost for 4 individuals - 1,05,200 INR

- Conducted a survey among air commuters with 67% willing to use our services.
- Acknowledged and provided positive feedback by the Manager of Varanasi Airport, Santosh Kumar Chaubey.
- Ongoing conversation with The Business Incubator - Malviya Centre for Innovation, Incubation and Entrepreneurship.
- Developed the prototype of a user friendly mobile application.
