My father, Shri Sasikumar met with a tragic accident and unfortunately passed away on 18 March 2012, while I was in my 7th Std, and I was the only child. Further to his untimely demise, I could barely continue my education at the nearby school. Studied to the best of my efforts till 12th Std, to be amongst the top rankers at my school (Class X - CGPA 10, Class XII - 89% CBSE). Since my father's death, my mother Smt. Geetha KG has been working on daily wages at a nearby bakery at Kayankulam, Alappuzha to sustain the family. Though it was difficult to make ends meet, I still made it to complete my schooling with good academics, Thanks to the magnanimous support by our School Chairman.
With a reasonably good ranking at the Kerala Medical entrance exam, I had joined a Medical college at Calicut. Then I opted to move to SUTAMS, Trivandrum, around 100 kms from home, since the annual fees here was relatively less. Here it is around Rs 7 lakhs per annum (academic + hostel fees)
Feeling heavy hearted to recollect that, the 1st year (2018-19) Fees of Rs. 7 lakhs, was raised through various sources, like community assistance, selling the available small quantity of Family gold, and helping hands by a relative.
Due to our financial situation, I could get an education loan of Rs 7 lakhs only, for the 5.5 year course. Former president of our block panchayath (Bharanickavu), Mrs Rajini Jayadev has also helped me financially to the best of her capability, and remains to be a guiding source for my future. The 2nd and third year's Fees of Rs. 7 lakhs each was paid partly through the bank loan component, but the major portion through help from MahaNSS - NSS Engg College - Alumni Mumbai chapter, a Gulf based association, some well-wishers and a relative too.
Now into my 4th academic year, a fees of 7 lakhs approx is to be paid. The Funds in hand is Rs. 1.5 lakhs including the Bank loan component. I am unable to find sources to make up the shortage of Rs. 4.5 lakhs for the current year. I am in search for WellWishers / organisations to help me out to overcome my hurdles, in completing my education.
Willing not to break my education midway, and with a hope of completing my 5 year course.
