Chetna is known for its outstanding work for the community-based support system for victims of domestic violence in urban and rural areas of India. For the last 25 years it has implemented projects on legal Good Governance, Communal Harmony, HIV/Aids, Legal Aid and Literacy with support from national and international donor agencies. With the end of each project, the project activities suffer due to a lack of funds.
In 2020, during the pandemic, the migrants from the work area of Chetna were supported by providing the ration kits. It also provided ration to sex workers, migrant labourers from Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.
2021 the new variant of COVID hit very badly the poor communities who have lost their livelihood.
