A cry for help from a desperate family
Mr Asin Selvan S, a 21-year-old from Colachel, Kanyakumari, Tamil Nadu, India, has been diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. He urgently needs a stem cell transplant to survive - but his poor and illiterate parents cannot afford the ₹ 30 lakhs (INR3 million or AUD55,000) required for the treatment at Christian Medical College, Vellore. They have exhausted all avenues, and now Asin, the only son and the pillar of hope for his family, is at risk of giving up his fight simply due to a lack of funds.
