Asima was diagnosed with AML 3 years ago. (Acute Myeloid Leukaemia, an aggressive Blood Cancer, that affects the bone marrow and decreases the blood cells e.g. RBC, WBC & Platelets.) Back then, she was admitted under Dr. Prabodh Das, Hematooncologist, SUM Hospital, Bhubaneswar, and received 4 cycles of chemotherapy. Since then, she was disease-free.
Now, after 3 years, she experienced similar symptoms. Upon investigation, she was diagnosed to be having a Relapse of the Cancer. And the treatment protocol for Relapsed AML is Salvage Chemotherapy followed by Bone Marrow Transplant. This is quite expensive and provided by a few centers in India like Christian Medical College, Vellore.
My father is a Driver by profession, who works on a daily wage basis to make our living. All the assets and possible loan options were utilized for Asima's initial loan options 3 years ago. This is making us afraid of not being able to treat my sister.
Initially, Dr. Prabodh sir referred her to CMC, Vellore, but due to financial constraints, we requested him to refer her to AIIMS, New Delhi.
In the coming 30 days, we need Rs. 10,00000 for BMT and medications. Please come forward to support us in getting our 16-year-old sister to be 60 years or more. Any contribution of you will be of immense help. And please share the link among your friends and family.
