Hello Everyone, I'm Ashwani a resident of Delhi with a Master's Degree from University of Delhi. I'm going to represent India at Asia Youth International Model United Nation 2019 which going to take place in Putrajaya, Malaysia from 25th August - 28th August 2019.
This MUN agenda is "Human Security Agenda in the Globalized World".
For Many People, Today's world is an insecure place, full of threats on many fronts. Natural disasters, violent conflicts, chronic and persistent poverty, health pandemics, international terrorism, and sudden economic & financial downturns which impose significant hardships and undercut prospects for sustainable development, peace and stability. Such crises are complex, entailing multiple forms of human security. And when insecurities overlap, they can grow exponentially, spilling into all aspects of people's lives, destroying entire communities and crossing national borders (UN.ORG).
The United Nations Development Program Report identified the seven different areas of threats to the global security, ranging from health & food to economical and political security. This approach, adopted by the UN, is a way of understanding human security in a broad sense with an emphasis that all types of threats are commonly categorized as Freedom from Fear (protection of an individual from violence), and Freedom from Want (focus is beyond violence, on existential threats to a human's life) (UNDP, 1964).
For people in crisis and extreme poverty, acting on single issues is not enough. Insecurities must be tackled together, comprehensively. Only then will people begin to feel safe in all aspects of their lives, have the income and opportunities to attain well-being, and know that their rights and dignity are fully respected. Only then will they enjoy human security- a more powerful, lasting approach to the most difficult deficits in peace and human development.
Asia Youth International MUN is one of the biggest MUN in the world involving the Youth of World to represent their stand in relation to contemporary world/country issues by representing their country as a MUN Delegate.
At Asia Youth International MUN 2019, I will gather with the other agents of change to contribute to the discussion about the human security agenda in the globalized world. It is an important subject as human security shapes and strengthens moral, ethical, and ideational foundations of politics and eventually accelerates multilateral, humanitarian efforts of the world community.
Hereby, I do believe that connecting with the other purposeful youth will produce the best solutions for a better world with peace.
So, I'm starting this Fundraiser so that i can be part of such a big event for an Indian Youth. This Fundraiser will help in handling the Event Fees, Travel, Accommodation and Visa charges to get to AYIMUN 2019, Malaysia.
