During the ongoing Coronavirus crisis, cruel dog owners are abandoning their dogs on the roads of Chennai. Over 40 dogs have been discarded already because their owners falsely believed that their pets could spread or give them the virus. PETS CANNOT GIVE YOU THE VIRUS. Street dogs sometimes attack these abandoned, new dogs in their territory, leaving them injured and bleeding. Vehicles can ram into them too, and they are then left bleeding.
Even street dogs are suffering in the same way during this virus phase. They too sometimes get injured after being hit by vehicles. Otherwise, they can fall ill without regular feeding from good people.
These animals have no voice- nobody cares about giving them food or ration cards at this time.
Some kind souls have rescued many of these dogs from the roads. Some are being temporarily housed in shelters. Several of these animals need something urgently- medical treatment. Some of them may die without our help. The good people who are helping pay for medical care for these dogs with their own money are running out of funds.
We will use all funds from this campaign to provide medical care for some injured/sick dogs that are being treated at The ARC Veterinary Clinic in Chennai. We can also use some of the funds to buy dog food for some of these dogs if required. We can also help pay for foster care and foster home boarding until these dogs get adopted.
I will start withdrawing funds to transfer to The ARC Vet. Clinic as soon as a few days into the campaign. I will transfer more funds as soon as I receive more receipts from the hospital.
One abandoned Lhasa Apso is fighting for his life as you read this. Half his lower jaw has been seriously injured. Maggots ate at the injured jaw too. We don't know if he was injured by a vehicle or mauled by street dogs. As I speak, there may be other dogs that are critically injured on the road that need urgent medical care.
THE DOGS NEED OUR HELP! Please hear their cries.
