Our artisans who are the conveyors and holders of our rich heritage and culture are left for hunger as a result of industrialization, globalization, and our want for international products etc. which we assume to be helping drive an independent India.
Big box retails are branding their products and are portraying them as authentic traditional arts leaving common folk unaware if they are truly a culturally authentic product.
As well as this the traditional arts and crafts are being commercialised to an extent at which people don't know if the product is authentic. An example is Kalamkaari
These artisans have taken upon the making of these arts and crafts in order to carry the legacy of their ancestors. But with their livelihoods at stake will these culturally authentic arts stay afloat?
We are striving hard to bring these artforms to the urban societies keeping their authenticity intact by providing the technology and infrastructure that they are lacking. We are partnering with multiple NGOs like 1M1B, Healing Art Foundation, etc to make this happen. But, more hands / claps can make a bigger sound.
Let's all contribute to the great heritage that our country witholds, the handicrafts. All your contributions, including the generous efforts of the volunteers who came forward to make this happen, would be spent to make the lives of our artisans better, and ensure independence for one and all.
Together, we can do it! Please donate before it's too late.
Today with your funds you will directly be reaching the artisans as though visiting them on your own. Your funds will be actively used in developing our online marketplace for these artisans, incredibleart.in and help in building volunteer programs in orders to teach the artisans the usage of the interface.
