At 5, Arti moved from Noorpur, Hapur to Delhi, chasing an urban dream for a better life with her family. After class 12th, she left school to work, to support her family’s economic burden. A few years later, in 2017, a split-second accident in Agra shattered her spine, confining her to a wheelchair forever until there’s a miraculous recovery.
She spent the next few years of her life confined in bed with copious tears as her constant companion thinking where and why her life had hit this tragic turn.
She drowned in her sorrows and watched her family drown with her along with additional issues
Arti finally took a call and decided to give her life another shot. In order to become an independent woman who can not only earn her own bread but also contribute to the family’s income, she turned her wheelchair into a makeshift battery-run vehicle-clunky, unreliable, but her only shot at freedom. Now, she delivers food, fights for scraps of work, and faces employers who hesitate to hire "someone like her."
But every day is a battle:
