Support Assam for Flood
Every year as the monsoon sweeps through North East India, 70% of Assam gets submerged under water. The non-stop heavy rainfall along with the fast current of the mighty river Brahmaputra that flows through the heart of Assam, causes heavy destruction to human and animal life each year.
The rural and sub urban livelihoods are largely affected - houses devastated by floods, loss of livestock, leaving people in need of food and clean water; and even need of shelter for those whose houses gets destroyed. Even the trees, agriculture and animal life has largely been affected.
This year, the water level of the river Brahmaputra was recorded to be the highest of all time and the the ever destructive floods is taking huge toll on the people. As of July 18, nearly 6 million people have been affected. More than 100 people have succumbed to the neck depth water while 40,000 people across 19 districts are currently in government-designated relief camps. 1,00,000 more people would have set up tents on higher land, waiting for the water to recede before they can go back to the broken houses just to start from beginning.
While this yearly natural disaster causes a huge economic loss apart from loss of livelihood, no concrete strategies for reduction of damage could be implemented by the Govt. so far.
The daily bread and water for those affected only depends on relief funds and public contributions.
Since there is not much that could be done, a little financial contribution from you will help in fulfilling their basic need of food and water. We intend to provide dry ration and drinking water to the affected families which will help them survive until the water recedes.
They do need PRAYERS, but they also need PAYERS.

Dear Supporters,
Like we mentioned, we have distributed the amount to a small Village near Rangia along with buying food from streetside vendors who were selling somethings to support themselves and were too proud to accept money. So we did a duel help. We helped 12 families with clean water, dry fruits and protein bars. Will keep you all posted.
Thank you.
