Covid-19 has badly affected his Lungs with an HRCT score of 14/25(Moderate Severity). Brief background:
Aritra was tested positive for Covid-19 on June 1st,2021, and was facing a high fever and cough. After a few days, he started having shortness of breath & his SPO2 level started dropping. As advised by the doctor he needed to be hospitalized. On 7th June 2021, he got admitted to Ohio Hospital, Kolkata & put on oxygen support. But his condition deteriorated and on 16th June 2021, he was electively intubated & ventilated. But since his condition didn’t improve, he was shifted to Medica Superspeciality Hospital, Kolkata on 17th June 2021 & put on ECMO Support.
His Final Diagnosis at Ohio Hospital was: -
Severe Covid Pneumonia With Cytokine Storm
ICD CODE: U07.1 AND D89.835
Currently, he is on ECMO and will need long-term ventilation till his lungs recover. If his lung does not improve, he might need a lung transplant.
Although we are trying our best to provide him the medical care needed but his present treatment cost has exhausted most of our savings. Your generous help to continue the fight to save my elder son from this deadly disease.
