Friends,
Many of you who have been supporting the efforts of the Moitrisanjog Society, would know that we had started working for the welfare of the children in the red-light area of Cooch Behar, West Bengal. We had supported them by giving private tuitions and organizing cultural events that are integral to their growth. However, following a series of COVID-related lockdowns in India and West Bengal, we were forced to close the program. We are currently planning to revamp the program with twenty children (aged between 7-11) in Ghughumari, Block I, Cooch Behar. These are underprivileged kids whose parents are unable to support their education. This new support center will provide them with the necessary guidance to excel in school and prepare them for their unique journeys as future adults.
While we are in the process of expanding the trans shelter that you had helped us built recently, and will eventually use a room to support our welfare work; as of now, we don’t have a place to host this program. Hence, we are planning to rent a room (big enough to ensure physical distancing) for a year. We cannot do this alone and need your financial support to make this program viable and sustainable. Whatever amount you donate will help us to ensure a better future for our children.
Budget:
Room Rent: 6000 x 12 (months) = 72,000
Teacher’s Salary: 4500 x 12 (months) = 54,000
Tiffin for 20 Students: 1000 x 365 (days) = 3,65,000
Stationery (masks/ books/pens/bags): 6,500 x 12 (months) = 78,000
Total: Rs 4,98,800
