'Dont Interrupt While We Dance' is a completely crowdfunded and community based film, made by a group of queer filmmakers, artists, activists and students. We began this journey two years ago - perplexed by how tough it is to find a safe queer household in Delhi, how far fetched is the idea of having a beer with your queer friends and how often do we find ourselves interrogated by the law for who we are.

We are taking our film across the country!
Since the inception of our little film, we've had several people warn us against it - about speaking out too loud and too bluntly, about being too angry, about challenging the system quite overtly. And when we completed the film - this noise followed.
Thus we are planning to organize community screenings across the country. These screenings is our way of taking our film back to those we made it for, those who supported us. We plan to organize small events and screenings across the country, especially non-meteropolitan cities. We are looking to get connected to organizations, collectives, artists and activists who are working locally. Your support will help us reach far and wide and to the people who are once again facing the anti-trans legislations and discrimination across the country.
We plan to document this journey, creating a non-fiction film, 'And We Continue to Dance'
As this fictitious film now becomes reality, we will travel on ground organizing make-shift screenings, holding cultural spaces and weaving together regional trans artists. It is through this journey, this film is unearthed, taking along the voices of several trans artists and poets who resist not only by raising a voice against skewed governments but by defiantly existing, through dancing and thriving, imagining even as they are written out of imaginations.

And We Continue to Dance is a musical documentary following the unfolding resistance against the Trans Act 2026 across India. Shadowing a series of community events, it uses art and performance to map trans artists across the country - resisting through movement, music and art - turning streets, homes and hidden spaces into sites of defiance and dance. When the law erases these identities - they do not disappear, they morph into rendezvous of power, hidden in broad daylight.
