Many of you may have heard that our dear friend Mahan (Ratnesh Singh) passed away in a hospital in Bangalore on 9.10.2021. We lost him to complications from liver disease. It was sudden and quick. He is survived by his wife Anshu and two children - daughter aged 20 and son 16.
Many of you have reached out seeking to help given the fact he was the sole breadwinner. We have been in touch with the family at Bangalore and with the help of some friends from IITB, who are now in investing and finance, we have tried assessing the financial position.
After taking into account the Provident Fund and Life Insurance that Mahan had, it was determined that there is a shortfall of about Rs 35-50 Lakhs if family has to be able to generate replacement income in the coming years. Accordingly, after consultation with Mahan's family, we have decided to set up this fundraiser as the best way for anyone wishing to participate.
The funds raised would be deposited directly into bank account of Mahan's wife, who would then decide on its suitable expenditure and/or investment for future income generation. Of course, this is a voluntary decision and we would wish to close it by 7.11.2021.
Aman Behal and I are available for any information or suggestions.
