The Animal Welfare Committee (AWC) at FLAME University, Pune is a student-led initiative working towards responsible and humane animal welfare on and around campus. We currently care for 50+ animals, providing daily feeding, sterilisation, vaccination, emergency medical care, and long-term treatment for animals with chronic and critical conditions. Our work focuses not just on immediate relief, but on building a safe, stable, and low-conflict campus ecosystem over time.
Over the past few months, medical and care-related expenses have increased significantly, leading to a growing financial burden. Many of the animals under our care require continuous treatment and monitoring, making sustained support essential.

Some of our critical cases:
- Goatface Sr. was diagnosed with a thyroid disorder causing severe skin issues, along with a mammary gland tumor. He has undergone surgery and is currently under observation to monitor recurrence, along with continued treatment and care. Total amount: ₹10,800 + ₹1,200/month for medication. Surgery and post-op care: ₹17,847 + ₹12,000.
- Tilak suffers from severe spinal arthritis and high blood pressure, requiring lifelong medication, supplements, and specialised care. Total amount: ₹11,500 + ₹600/month.
- Tukaram is one of our oldest dogs, diagnosed with a cancerous tumor in his abdomen. Given his condition, we are currently providing palliative care to ensure he remains comfortable and pain-free for as long as possible. Total amount: ₹10,200 + ₹1,200/month.
- Spinner is a young dog with a permanently damaged joint due to an untreated fracture, leading to chronic pain, muscle loss, and lifelong care needs. Total amount: ₹10,000 + ₹3,400/month.
- Yoda recently underwent surgery for a tumor near his spine and has been diagnosed with fibrosarcoma. He now requires continued monitoring, treatment, and post-surgical care. Surgery, treatment and tests: ₹37,000.
