Here's our story:
The.pawsome.land is an unofficial non-profit organization procured to provide health, care, food, and treatment to wounded and stray animals. This journey started three years back when we found a lost kitten in our area.
Soon after, we started to take note of stray animals and their complicated lives. Our area's dogs used to survive on garbage food and sleep on cold roads in winters, and it was enough to chill our bones and initiate a better life for them. We started feeding the stray dogs in our colony and provided them with jute mats to grasp warmth in colder seasons.
The closer we got to these animals, the closer we could see their wounds and worldly struggles. These dogs were infected by harsh rashes, body itches, hair fall, or mange. It was heart breaking to watch them go through so much pain. Living on the streets, they would face vehicle accidents almost every day! We are currently fostering a dog whose paw was cut entirely in an accident.
Slowly, our friends started to feed in their colony every day, taking injured and wounded dogs to the hospital. During winters, we treat 3-4 Parvo Virus cases daily.
With parvo, these animals also struggle with fits, distemper, accidents, limping, paralysis, maggot infestation, and so much more! All these diseases and wounds are severe and may cause fatal death.
While we are trying to make their lives better every day, it's simply not enough! We have to deal with constant fund shortage, the lack of shelter, and our community's judgment and harsh decisions towards animals. With your help, we can fight the system and help these animals heal in a better place— a place where they can enjoy the warmth, healthy food, and shelter.
Our goal: Initially, we can dream of a dog shelter where we can adopt puppies and injured dogs and provide them safety from rainy seasons and harsh winters. We also wish to hire a doctor to provide these dogs instant treatment in the shelter.
Our monthly expenditure:
We are all students and survive on pocket money. However, our parents do support us completely to better wounded animals. We feed 200-300 stray dogs every day, sometimes bread, chicken, chicken feet, chapatis with milk. We take at least 3-4 animals to the state veterinary day.
There's no other support from our neighbourhood. For all we know, they are against us feeding stray animals. As a better and bigger community, we believe in you! Together, we can make a better place for these animals.
Our future mission: Being a small group with limited funds, we can only care for 200-300 animals! However, we want to save as many stray dogs as possible. We cannot sit back and watch the pain these animals go through. Please donate whatever you can; it would mean the world to these animals. Your single decision can change many lives for good. A single rupee/a single dollar will help immensely. Please, don't hold back! These animals need your humanity!
