We're reaching out to you today on behalf of Anupama Alias, with a sense of urgency. Our dear friend Anil Xavier, a talented 39-year-old artist and filmmaker, is fighting for his life, and we need your help.
On August 15th, 2024, Anil collapsed from a massive cardiac arrest while playing football. It was unexpected - Anil has always been health-conscious, never touching alcohol or cigarettes. He was rushed to Little Flower Hospital in Angamaly, where they removed the blockage through angioplasty. However, Anil remained unconscious, and we learned that his brain had been deprived of oxygen for nearly 20 minutes, causing severe damage.
Currently, Anil is at the Amrita Institute of Medical Science, undergoing crucial neuro treatment. The doctors have him on a 50-day oxygen therapy, working to bring back our friend. Each day is critical, and the medical expenses are quickly mounting. That's why we're turning to you – Anil's extended family of friends, fellow artists, and kind-hearted individuals who understand the importance of supporting one another in times of need.
For those who don't know Anil, he's a gifted sculptor and an associate director in the Malayalam film industry. His work can be seen in movies like Jan. E. Man, Manjummel Boys, Thallumaala, and Thekku Vadakku. Anil was preparing for his directorial debut – a dream we hope to see him fulfil. His wife, Anupama, is a talented painter whose works have gained recognition both nationally and internationally. After completing their education at Hyderabad Central University, they are currently settled in Angamaly, Kerala.
We're all standing together for Anil and Anupama – their family, friends, and the community of art lovers. But we need your help too. The treatment Anil requires is expensive, beyond what their middle-class backgrounds can support. Every contribution will go a long way in ensuring that Anil gets the care he needs to recover.
