My name is Anas Ahamad, and I am a student of Masters from Azim Premji University batch- 2017-19. I got placement in an organisation in 2019 and worked for 13 months. Due to the mass layoff, I had to leave the organisation. I have been trying hard to find a job but couldn't make it. I got a job in February 2021 for a month in Swimming matters, Bengaluru. Due to my mental health, I couldn't focus and had to resign.
As I'm a first-generation learner and a sole earner in the family, I am financially struggling. I'm burdened with multiple responsibilities, including my education loan, cost of living in Delhi, regular expenses and sending money back home. In addition, my mother's health is deteriorating, and I can't bear the hospital expenses. And for myself, I need constant care and treatment for my mental health. After college, I have been paying back my education loan EMI's. The bank has been sending reminders which are quite overwhelming at times. I don't know how to manage the situation with an ailing mother and other responsibilities in hand.
I'm currently working with an NGO in Delhi where I share door to door awareness campaigns which pay me Rs.400 a day! Unfortunately, due to rain and the pandemic, I cannot step out that often. Even after working 25 days a month which amounts to Rs.10,000 a month.
Expenses in brief:
Loan EMI- 28 instalments left- Rs. 5400*28 = Rs. 1,51,000
Session with my Doctor- Rs. 1180/-
Room rent - Rs. 2400
The remaining amount has to be sent back home for necessities.
I request each of you to contribute and support me the earliest to pay back my education loan. Please help me sustain my family through difficult times; even a small contribution can go a long way.
