My name is Kavita Singh, and I am here with a heavy heart to ask for help for my brother, Amit Thakur (32 years old).
In December 2025, Amit met with a devastating road accident that changed our lives overnight. He suffered a severe brain injury along with multiple fractures in his skull, face, and body. He was rushed to the hospital and immediately admitted to the ICU, where doctors performed an emergency brain surgery (craniotomy) to save his life.
We believed the worst was over—but it was only the beginning of a long and painful journey.
In the following weeks, Amit developed a serious complication where fluid started accumulating in his brain (hydrocephalus). Doctors had to perform another surgery to insert a VP shunt to drain the fluid. Unfortunately, due to a severe infection (bacterial meningitis), the shunt kept getting blocked repeatedly.
Till today, Amit has undergone 8-9 major surgeries out of which 5 related to brain.
After the VP shunt surgeries, his condition became even more critical. He was diagnosed with severe bacterial meningitis along with Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS), which affected his ability to breathe on his own. He had to be placed on ventilator support, and doctors started IVIG (Intravenous Immunoglobulin) treatment to fight the condition.
It has been an extremely difficult and heartbreaking time for our family to see him go through so much pain.
However, after all these treatment, we are finally seeing a small but hopeful sign of recovery. Amit is now able to breathe on his own for a few hours without ventilator support.
This small improvement has given us hope that with continued treatment, care, and time, Amit can slowly recover and come back to us.
But the financial burden is overwhelming.
It's been 5 months now and we have already spent more than ₹52,00,000 on his treatment, exhausting all our savings and resources. The ICU care, medications, surgeries, and long-term rehabilitation are still ongoing, and we are struggling to continue his treatment. Seeing him like this every day is unbearable, but we are not ready to give up on him.
We are doing everything we can to save his life, but we cannot do this alone anymore.
We humbly request you to please support us in this difficult time. Your contribution—no matter how small—can help us continue his treatment and give him a chance to live again.
If you are unable to donate, please share this fundraiser with your network.
Thank you for your kindness, prayers, and support.
