Story

My elder Brother, Amit Kumar, a chronic patient of nephritis since age 10 and subsequent kidney failure at the age of 20 years, since January 2008 and undergoing dialysis twice in a week, in order to survive and see the world with faint ray of hope to live further and try to devote time for society if I get ever my health back, after kidney transplant.

Sir, now moving towards all of you with the hope to give my life back in the form of financial help. One question will arise in everybody’s mind why to help me ? Then to give an answer to this question, I am highlighting some unfortunate parts of my life. Myself coming from a poor family, although my father is employed but in marrying my eldest Sister and many times
for my survival, he is in head to mouth in debt and for this reason, my father became heart patient and mother mentally because of my uncertain life on account of kidney failure.

Literally my father became unable to provide me financial help anymore but I have decided to live and try hard alone on the path of Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore’s line ” Walk alone”. Because of my unfortunate life, I have to leave my education incomplete and dropping from Patna College, After toiling from one place to another place in Kolkata, and finally reached Calcutta Rescue, an NGO, to rescue me from my death. They agreed to financially help me after hearing my unfortunate life history. To date, Calcutta Rescue, NGO is providing financial help for undergoing dialysis twice a week and required medicines.

Sir, there is no place in both my hand where needle for dialysis has not been inserted but I have taken firm decision not to lose my hope and mental strength. After waiting for more than twelve years of my unfortunate life, I have got a ray of hope in form of undergoing a Cadaveric renal transplant kidney from Rabindranath Tagore International Institute of Cardiac Sciences, Kolkata, any moment, as and when any cadaver
kidney (deceased donor) will be donated.

However, the financial burden is major hindrances, since Calcutta Rescue, NGO has refused to give operational expenses. But, Rabindranath Tagore International Institute of Cardiac Sciences, Kolkata has given an estimate of Rs. 6,39,000(copy enclosed). To get this amount, the help of all is required now so that I may get back my life and sleep in the peace of mind.
