In rural Bihar, opportunities for girls to pursue higher education are rare. Many families invest in their sons’ education while saving for their daughters’ marriages. But at Amaltas College of Education (www.amaltascollege.com), in Indrapuri, Rohtas, Bihar, most of our students are first-generation learners - young women aiming to become working professionals.
Our library is their most loved space, but with only 50 seats and 4,000 books, it can no longer keep pace with their needs. More than 100 students use it daily, and while it is bright and sunny in winters, it becomes unbearably hot and humid in the summers and monsoons.
With your support, we can transform this space into a vibrant hub of learning. Together, we will:
- Extend the library to add seating for 50 more students.
- Install air conditioning and a false ceiling for year-round comfort.
- Provide new cupboards, shelves, and reading tables.
- Strengthen our digital infrastructure.
- Add 1,000 high-quality new books.
Every contribution counts—whether it funds a book, a chair, or part of the expansion. Donate today and open windows of opportunity in rural Bihar.
