This is the heartbreaking story of a poor family of nine members – a father, mother, five daughters, and two sons. The only earning member of the family, Mr. Munnalal, works tirelessly every single day, taking up small traditional jobs just to feed his children.

He makes and sells grinding stones (sil-batta), the traditional stone slabs once used for grinding spices and chutneys. Alongside this, he also sells doormats or cleaning cloths on the streets. During the hot summer season, he earns a little by fitting grass mats in coolers to help people beat the heat. From lane to lane, street to street, he struggles daily to earn just enough to bring food for his wife and children.

Even after such hard work, his income is very little. Managing food, education, and the needs of five daughters and a family of nine is already a constant struggle.

But now, a devastating tragedy has struck them. Their younger son, Alok Kumar (18 years old, belonging to the Scheduled Caste community), met with a serious accident and is in a very critical condition. Doctors have urgently recommended immediate surgery, without which his life cannot be saved. The total cost of the surgery and treatment is ₹92,900.

For this poor family, arranging such a large amount is impossible. The father, who spends every day making and selling grinding stones and other small items, has no way to gather this money. His helplessness is heartbreaking—on one side, his five daughters are dependent on him, and on the other side, his young son is struggling between life and death.
