A Daughter’s Fight to Save Her Father
My name is Riya, ISB PGP Class of 2024. I am my parents’ only daughter,I never imagined I’d be fighting this battle, not for grades or a career, but for my father’s life.
When I joined ISB in April 2023, I carried with me the dream every daughter has to build a life my parents could be proud of. My father, a retired Andhra Pradesh Police officer who served with courage and integrity, and my mother have always been my pillars of strength.
But everything changed soon after.
How It Began
June 2023: Just three months into my MBA, my mother collapsed due to sepsis and multiple organ failure. For 45 days, my life alternated between the classroom and the ICU. She survived, but the treatment cost us ₹85 lakhs, wiping out our life’s savings.
While we were still trying to recover emotionally and financially, tragedy struck again.
My father suffered a sudden stroke. Scans revealed a large brain lesion, and a biopsy confirmed our worst fear i.e. Renal Cell Carcinoma (kidney cancer) that had already spread to his brain.
Our Two-Year Fight
From 2024 to 2025, my father has undergone:
Left nephrectomy (removal of kidney)
Left thyroidectomy
Targeted brain radiation
Multiple surgeries for severe complications
To sustain his treatment, we took every possible loan and sold all assets. Over these two years, we have spent more than ₹1 crore on his medical care.
Where We Stand Today
In September 2025, the cancer resurfaced this time in critical brain regions. That month alone, his ICU stay cost us ₹20 lakhs.
We now have no savings, no property, and no loan eligibility left.
Yet, my father continues to fight with dignity and courage.
Doctors now recommend immunotherapy as his best and last chance of survival.
Urgent Requirement: ₹60 Lakhs
Immunotherapy: ₹25 lakhs
Hospitalization & Complications: ₹35 lakhs
Why I’m Reaching Out
I have done everything within my power to save my father from taking loans to liquidating every asset we owned. But the next phase of treatment is beyond my capacity alone.
Even after enduring multiple surgeries, immense pain, and countless setbacks, my father continues to fight for his life every single day.
If he hasn’t given up, I cannot give up either.
Today, I am reaching out not just as a daughter, but as someone who still believes in hope, compassion, and collective strength.
Your support, no matter how small, can help me continue my father’s fight.
💗 Your kindness can give us time.
💗 Your help can give him life.
Please help me save my father.
