My family and I have faced hardships for over 20 years. In 2004, my premature brother required 5 years of treatment. Then, my grandmother was diagnosed with cancer and passed away after prolonged treatment. Later, my elder sister was diagnosed with the same genetic heart condition, HOCM, and sadly, she didn’t survive. 

While coping with all this, I suffered an eye injury that left me partially blind despite multiple surgeries. I continued to fight, scoring well in school and pursuing higher studies. However, I was also diagnosed with HOCM, and despite breathing issues and being bedridden, I graduated and pursued CS.  

In 2021, tragedy struck again when my 18-year-old brother passed away suddenly. Determined to make my family proud, I cleared my CS exams, but my condition worsened. Since then, I’ve had 9 hospitalizations, including three ICU stays. I now have an AICD device, and my doctors have recommended a heart transplant as my only chance for survival.  

Despite everything, my parents, younger sister, and I remain strong. But my father is in heavy debt after years of medical expenses and personal loss. A successful transplant will not only save me but help me support my family.
