Mohd Afzal Shaikh (the person in the picture) is 40 years old. 1 year back, he complained of stomach pain that was severe and persistent. He then underwent a series of diagnostic tests - blood tests, sonography, CT Scan, Biopsy and more. Finally, cancer has detected and he was referred to a multi-specialty hospital for surgery.
He got a cycle of 6 chemotherapy from Prince Aly Khan Hospital Mumbai. But after 3 months of cycle the disease occurred again. He almost spent all the money he had but now he doesn't has any money for his treatment. Doctors from Bhagwan mahaveer hospital jaipur tells him that he would undergo bone marrow Transplant.The cost of Transplant is approximately Rs 5,00,000 and after that there are post hospitalization charges. The family has already spent Rs15 Lacs for diagnosis and in Chemotherapy by keeping mortgage of their small property they possess, taking help from friends and raising fund from locality. They do not have health insurance of any kind. Mohd Afzal is a mason, earning a meagre Rs 5,000 each month, a private hospital and the expenses of surgery are out of reach.
