I am here to raise funds for 50-year-old Afroza Khan who lives in Junnardeo, a small town with a population of about 25,000 in Chhindwara district of Madhya Pradesh. Three years ago in 2017, she had a small growth in her thigh which was operated on and diagnosed as malignant melanoma. Slowly, despite treatment, the disease has grown. She could not get timely medical treatment during the lockdown and now her disease has spread through her body. She is terminally ill now with metastatic malignant melanoma and doctors have given up hope.
Afroza has no children of her own, but she adopted a girl child who is now grown and married. Her spouse who worked as a vegetable seller is unable to work, since the lockdown began. He needs to be home to take care of her and they are facing severe problems due to lack of funds and her suffering as the disease spreads further causing more complications. She is suffering from severe pain and her haemoglobin levels have dropped to just 2 percent, due to the disease as well as lack of access to a nutritious diet. Her kidney function too has deteriorated and her body is swelling up. She is currently hospitalized to get a blood transfusion and to deal with the other complications.
She needs urgent financial help to deal with these issues. All known sources of funding have dried up and I am reaching out to you with a request to help us provide her with rations as well as medicines that will enable her to live her last days in dignity. Our attempt now is to keep her pain-free and reduce her suffering as much as is medically possible.
Any contribution will be of immense help. Do contribute and share this campaign link with your friends and family.
