“ऐसी मस्ती नहीं चाहिए (Esi Masti Nahi chahiye)”, said an 8th class teacher and many silently suffering adolescents (13-18 years). We heard a bus driver say this to fighting children and parents to the siblings. Each day newspaper headlines silently scream violence and its deadly consequences.
Why Do We Exist?- The Cause:
During one of our many visits to under-resourced communities, our psychologist witnessed an incident that moved us to re-think the meaning of ‘masti’. Five boys hit one child with their closed fists until satisfied. This was followed by a child pretending to die and others jumping on his body to celebrate, when tired, waiting for a moment when yet another child enters the room and they all take out his clothes and hit him till they are tired again.
Here is our chance to collectively be the first support providers and save the youth from any further harm. Let us join hands so that more adolescents strengthen their capacity to overcome negative emotions and find the courage to pause and choose self-care over self-harm.

In the name of masti, students are observed to engage in bullying, physical hitting, emotional violence, and, often neglected but highly prevalent sexual violence. #MindकीCare
Research (IJMR, 2018) in the field of mental health indicates that 50% of 356 million youth in India are struggling with mental health challenges. As per the National Mental Health Survey (2016), in India, nearly 9.8 million adolescents within the age range of 13-17 are in need of active mental health intervention. In a world with rising mental health concerns, with your support, we aim to ensure that each student experiences a safe space to explore and express their emotional needs so timely support and intervention can be provided.

WHAT do we do?
In the last three years, our core team and psychology experts have designed, developed and are enthusiastically delivering a school intervention program named MindShala. We primarily work with government schools and communities that report high incidences of violence, crime, substance-addiction and abuse. Currently, our program is being implemented in six government schools within two geographical areas - Indore and Delhi.

HOW will your funds be utilized?
With your support, for a year we will continue to nurture the emotional well-being of 2000+ adolescents and youth from the government schools in Indore and Delhi. Your money will help us:
