A little over a year ago in October 2018, I found myself thinking about what the status environment of a Society would be like if:
In Skills, I struggled to give my feelings a vocabulary. I struggled to identify the feelings and trigger points underlying my issues of anger and disappointment.
With the help and guidance of Socialist, at the age of 30, I developed a better understanding of myself. I wondered if I had access to counselling in my childhood, would I have been more aware and able to communicate better or ask for help when I needed it.
I realised that the response of women and their families to emotions, influences a girl developmental process - socially, emotionally, and cognitively. I researched different methods of skills and techniques that could help women and girls in and outside of families.
In collaboration with a Social Worker, Skill Program was born. Skill Program imagines a world where women and girls are self-depended, emotionally intelligent and resilient and promotes a space where economical and well being are essential components of all lives.
Skill Program is the first program under the parent organisation AEW Foundation that has been set up to address economic and unemployed in India.
Skill Program is a preventative program for women that aims to create affordable Skills program for low-income communities. Skill Program helps Women and girls develop a Skill that encourages a deep understanding of oneself from a very low time and provides a safe confident for women so they can be earn of and help their family.
Skill Program aims to offer 60 sessions as after their home work in low-income communities to women and girls in the age group of 18-60 years old, to give training on machine & hand embroidery.
How do we get there?
To reach more women and impact their economic well-being. We are looking for help in the form of love and funds.
Your support will enable Skill Program to strengthen its work and expand to more locations.
The funding received will be used to expand Skill Program work to more locations in low income and marginalized communities of Bihar in first 2 quarters of 2020. We will also be working to develop our Skill Specialist and Trainer’s training modules with the help of the funding.
