Every year, floods in Assam leave thousands of families struggling to survive. Rising waters destroy homes, wash away food supplies, damage schools, and cut off entire villages from essential services. Many remote communities are left without access to clean drinking water, food, medical care, and shelter for days.
When this year's floods struck, a team of Littlebox employees and volunteers, led by Rituparna Sharma, immediately organized relief efforts for remote villages in and around Sivasagar and Jorhat. They delivered food, drinking water, and hygiene kits to families who had been cut off from regular aid. The first relief mission was made possible by ₹1,43,613 raised by Littlebox employees and partners, but it also highlighted the urgent need for larger-scale support.
To expand these relief efforts, Littlebox India is raising funds in association with Development Network and Research Foundation (DNRF), ensuring that contributions are managed through an established NGO and directed toward helping flood-affected families. The campaign aims to raise ₹50,00,000 to provide both immediate relief and long-term recovery support.
The funds will be utilized in two phases:
Immediate Relief: Distribution of food rations, clean drinking water, hygiene kits, medicines, and other emergency essentials to families living in remote flood-affected villages.
Rebuilding & Recovery: As floodwaters recede, the funds will support the reconstruction of damaged homes and school buildings, helping families rebuild their lives and enabling children to return to school.
Transparency is at the heart of this campaign. Regular updates, including photographs, village names, and details of how the funds have been utilized, will be shared so that every donor can see the real impact of their contribution.
Every donation, big or small, helps deliver hope, relief, and a path to recovery for families who have lost almost everything. Together, through Littlebox India and DNRF, we can ensure that vulnerable communities in Assam receive the support they need to rebuild stronger and move forward with dignity.
