My name is Swati Shukla and I am here to raise funds for my son Abhash Pandey who is 2 years old. Abhash Pandey lives in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh with us.
Abahsh is suffering from Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) which is a rare & one of the most severe disease which causes skeletal and heart muscle weakness & eventually affects all voluntary muscles of the body. Currently, Abhash is having enlarged calves & facing trouble in climbing stairs, getting up from the floor, & running.
As of now there is no treatment or cure for this disease, but *Gene therapy* has given a ray of hope to us which got successful in US recently. We approached Nationwide Children Hospital, Columbus, USA for Gene therapy & they are agreed for it. This procedure will cost around *₹ 29 Crore* .Till now we have spent ₹10 lakh from our savings & family’s support.
