She is a student and studying BCA at Justice Basheer Ahmed Sayeed College for Women.
To make a living, her father works as an AutoRickshaw Driver (which we have financed through our Bank). She lives in Chennai, Tamil Nadu with parents.
She is suffering from Wilson's Disease since 2007. Liver Transplant has been completed by 2016 at Stanley Medical College, but the side effects of medication (Steroid) lead to the rupture of her hip bones and damages her pancreas. Doctors at Stanley referred her to DR RELA INSTITUTE & MEDICAL CENTRE, Chrompet, Chennai.
Until now, we've spent about Rs. 1500000. We've arranged the amount from selling assets & savings.
About her Family:
Venkatesan was working abroad in a low paying job. His only daughter is Arthi was diagnosed with "Wilson's disease" which is a very rare genetic disorder (1 in 30000 to 40000 births) when she was 14 years old.
On hearing this news, Venkatesan left his abroad work and came back to drive an auto which was financed through our Bank.
She underwent Liver transplant surgery a few years back as part of the treatment. She was on tablets for the disease for some years now. During operations they provided steroid medicines which affected her both lower hip bone, now she can't able to Walk. So doctors have suggested for hip replacement surgery.
I admire Venkatesan a lot. He is a complete teetotaler. He doesn't drink tea or coffee outside so that we could save 10 rupees for tablets. He spends 10000 rupees per month for medications. He works day and night. In fact, he is worn out more than his auto tires. How much ever he puts in hard work, he doesn't show tiredness or has taken rest. He just keeps on running and working for his family and his daughter. He, in fact, accepted his daughter's condition as "God has given this disease assuming I will take care of it. So, I am going to handle it, sir". A big salute to his attitude.
A few days back he called me. "I couldn't manage it, Sir. I have exhausted all my options to prepare funds. I don't want to bother you again and again, but I don't have anyone else too. The 3500 rupees that I paid yesterday for a test is the last amount I had. Hereafter only God could save our family". And he was in tears. And so am I.
I have tried my level best to help him out, but the funds aren't sufficient and hence reaching out to many well-wishers. If you feel, some amount of yours would help Venkatesan's daughter, it would be really appreciative. You can find the details below on how to contribute. Please feel free to reach out to the below contacts if you would like to enquire more details.
