Today in the knowledge economy education plays a vital role in fighting poverty. A primary school for over 150 underprivileged children and providing them with basic education and distribute free uniforms. These children stay in slums and their parents are daily wage laborers who barely make ends meet. We strive to educate these children for a better future and overcome poverty.
We need funds to enroll more children and give them books and other amenities so that they can be better educated and face the competitive world.
The school is operated in slum area and this slum is inhabited by daily wage laborers, the children here are underprivileged and have no access to education most of them are left alone when their parents go to work. There is a crying need for the children to utilize their time and stay safe and be engaged. We strive to give them basic education and provide a safe place for them to utilize their time constructively. We ensure that each child is given personal attention and provide them with free uniforms and basic stationary. We face numerous hurdles in running the school due financial constraints. The main hurdle which we face is paying the rent and providing salaries for the teachers. We plan to buy a unit in the slums which would be very helpful as the major cost is paying the steep rent. A place of our own would be an asset and we could plan our operations for the long term .
We also provide free uniforms for the children and provide them free books basic stationary which includes pencil and crayons. Another problem we face is paying the Teachers' salary on time as a result their is a high turnover of teachers which effects the functioning of the classes. We therefore need funds urgently to keep the school afloat.
Mentioned below is the detailed breakup of the amount which we hope to raise
Cost of premises : 8 lakhs( outright purchase of a unit of about 400 sq ft in the area of operation )
Salary of teachers ( 4 Teachers ) : 15000 pm X4 = 60,000
Cost of Uniforms for100 students := 80,000
Cost of books and stationary = 30,000
Misc Expenses = 30,000
