Hello everyone, I’m Lisa Singhi and I’m excited for my 8th birthday on 30th July. Ever since my first birthday, my parents have celebrated this day by contributing to society and touching several lives.

I’m currently studying in 3rd standard. I haven’t got a chance to visit my teachers and friends ever since the pandemic hit the world. However, I meet them everyday on digital platforms. In the beginning, online learning felt different but I’m gradually getting used to it.

Good education is the greatest gift you can give anyone. And this is the gift I’m looking forward to receiving from all of you today. My parents and I believe that in the mad rush to ‘go digital’, the needs of millions of India’s poor and rural students are overlooked. They are being deprived of their fundamental right to education.

For my 8th birthday, we are organizing a fundraiser for financially underprivileged children whose families have been impacted by Covid. Through the help of the NGO Kritagyata Trust, we identified the six students ( Please see the image below) from Shri Padmashree School located in rural Bangalore to pay their school fees.

Owing to the pandemic, the education sector has experienced a major setback. Lack of proper education at an early age could lead to a disastrous situation in the long run. For instance, the next generation of employment seekers may not own the required skills and knowledge. The repercussions can be graver than what we can speculate right now.

In order to contribute our bit, we have recognized six students from financially underprivileged backgrounds who are unable to continue with school. The families of these students have been adversely impacted due to covid and are unable to pay school fee.

We are aiming to raise INR 50K which can be distributed among the students to pay their annual school fee. This will enable them to continue their education and grow to their full potential.

I love this quote from Mother Teresa shared to me by my father - “If you can't feed a hundred people, then feed just one.” –Mother Teresa.
This is just an small attempt from me to bring a change in someone s life and experience the world's best feeling in the world which is to know that someone breather easier because of your efforts.

Attaching the details of the students and the school.
Let’s rise by lifting others :)

In Sincere Gratitude I remain for your support.

With Love.
Lisa, Priya and Varun
