Summer Camp- YRC Vanjur May 2019

I am working towards creating a better India where children and young people have easy access to resources which supports them to improve creativity, increase learnings ability, and careers.  Summer vacations are generally the happiest period of the student's life. It matters a lot to them as they get some rest and relax from their daily school schedule.  Usually, summer holidays are spent playing outside all the time for fun but not actually learning any skills that will support their education and behaviors. It is very important to engage them meaningfully and aimed at teaching various new skills in order to promote a learning environment and to equip them with real-world skills, apart from the set academic learning. whereas in rural community’s access to programs like summer camp remains a problem for children from low-income families.  Our summer camp brings children together to engage them with lot's fun activities for free!  support us in making this happen!

Objectives:
  • To engage young people in a productive and meaningful way during their summer holidays.
  • To equip young people with life skills
  • To equip Young people with a basic computer and spoken English skills.
  • To encourage participants to be more environmentally friendly by teaching them how to recycle.

Dear Supporters,

Summer Camp is not just make a donation it is about making a difference! Anbuvolagam is feeling proud that the successful completion of 10 days long summer camp at the Youth Resource center Vanjur, supporting 82 children was great fun as well as challenging! As an impact of the summer camp, 16 young people have joined the free summer computer courses at YRC. Also, the number of parents visiting YRC has increased, it shows that summer camp helped us to promote YRC and its existence. The generous support of individuals like you all makes it possible for our organization to exist and to make the community a great place to live. Thanks to Keerthana, Naval Kishor Gupta, Alice Frampton, Claudia, Janette, Ritu Kumari, Rachel, Steph, Kirsty, Michaela Cartmell Hull, Anju shakhivel, Karthikeyan Karunakaran, Meshak Inbanathan, Vijay Williams, Anandhkumar, Yamuna and Michale Edwards for your generous support and contribution and a special thanks to Mrs.Lalitha Prabakaran and family for sponsoring gift (a pencil box with writing kit) for 72 children on the last of summer camp and Mrs. Vijayalakshmi Karunakaran for supporting us throughout the summer camp and handing over the gits to kids. We also want to thank Mr.RJ Aruzh, Mr.Solomon and Alice, Megan, Shannon, and Divghar Raja for joining us on the last day of summer camp, helping us to manage and distribute the Gifts to children.
