Mallya Aditi International School is fundraising for Sparsha Trust this Diwali.

Sparsha Trust was started in the year 2005 by a group of MSW students with a vision to create a society free of exploitation of children and help children manifest their inherent potential and talents. So far, the organization has school rehabilitated about 2500 school dropout, street, begging and child laborers and has started educational training centers along with shelter in 6 places of Bangalore and around 168 children are making use of this facility. Sparsha is running 5 children’s community libraries, 2 children’s multidimensional learning centers and night shelters for more than 150 homeless elder citizens.

Due to urbanization and establishment of IT companies, there has been too much of construction work near Manyatha Tech Park of Hebbal area in Bangalore. Many construction labourers who are migrating in search of work from northern Karnataka are settling down in Mesthri Palya. They are engaged in daily wage work and because of low wages they are unable to fulfill their basic needs like nutritious food, clothing, house, etc. So, the migrant families are living in tents near construction sites, drainage and lake points as there is no other place for the dwelling. The whole area is covered with dust because of construction work and the children have to live hazardous conditions. The children often suffer from malnutrition, cholera, skin allergies, cold and cough caused by inhaling dust particles. The children can be found playing in work areas and are prone to small accidents. The children will not have any care and protection and face many other problems like physical abuse and sexual abuse.

Most of the children never attend any school or have any formal education and their families are in need of extra incomes from these young children. Some children go for rag picking and while they are collecting rags they are often subjected to chemical poisons and infections. The rag pickers are very susceptible to diseases like tuberculosis and cancer due to their exposure to hazardous materials.

These children certainly need a safe place where they can get food, education, care and protection. Therefore, Sparsha has decided to set up day care centers for 0-3, 3-6 and 6-14 age group children and we need the help of kindhearted supporters to construct the centers for these underprivileged children. So, we request your kind selves to support us for the full construction of centers or sponsor for individual center.
