Support me to pursue an MBA program at University of Canterbury

  • I am the winner of  iVolunteer India's "Volunteer Hero 2013" and was sent to US to participate in National Conference on Volunteering and Services organized by Points of Light at Atlanta in June 2014.
  • Was one of the recipient of the Indian of the Year 2015 award by CNN News 18 on behalf of The People of Chennai for our extraordinary contribution during the floods in 2015. The People of Chennai also got the Indian of the Year award for public service category.

After working for more than 14 years and fulfilling my family commitments and a part of my social commitments, I plan to set out to study further. I have got an offer of admit for an MBA program at University of Canterbury, Christchurch, New Zealand. I have secured the tuition fee through loan and planning to support my living expenses through my personal savings and loan from friends. I also secured a few scholarship waiver for my tuition fee.

I plan to do a crowd fund raising to cover my entire / part of living expense during my stay there. I have set up this page seeking your little support (after several advise from some of my friends who wanted to contribute). Contribute if you feel like. Thanks for stopping by and contributing. As I always believe giving is a chain reaction. I will definitely contribute this back to the society / people in whatever way possible!

As suggested by a friend, I would like to briefly share my social work

Dear All,

Wanted to update about my progress with term 3. I successfully managed to do 7 courses in a term and have now completed the 12 core papers with a B average and above (which was mandatory to get enrolled into MBA). I have also completed 4 more electives of MBA course and now have a GPA of 6.41 on a 9.00 scale. I also did a study tour to Vietnam to learn about International business strategy in Asia (Vietnam being one of the fastest growing economy in Asia).

I have 2 more papers to complete and a project to do. I have already secured the project. It on Sustainability and how University students can help business and industries to follow/adopt sustainable business practices.

I am also glad to say that I will be participating at the Global Finals of Schneider Electric's "Go Green in the City 2017" competition to be held in Paris next week. This year the competition received 19500 applications from 180 countries and 12 teams are participating in the Global Finals. Should I win, I will get a job with Schneider Electric.

I plan to start my project when I get back and aim to finish is by February (3 months in advance of my scheduled due as a full time student).

Thanks again for all your support.

Dear All,
I got my official results for term 2. I did 5 courses.. the work load was high but I did manage to do well.
My overall GPA is 7.00 on 9.00 scale.
I am doing 2 more electives along with 4 core paper this term. Also got a scholarship to enroll to a certification program on Strengthening Communities through Social Innovation. So I am doing 7 courses this term. Going to be a nightmare! :-) but I like to keep myself busy!.

I am also happy to share that I applied for a few business competitions.

Got through the finalists of Asia Pacific Region at the Go Green in The City 2017 by Schneider Electric and have my finals on 11th of July. Will post the update once I get results.

Got through to the top 20 (semi-finals) of Entre 85K challenge by University of Canterbury Center for Entrepreneurship. We have our pitch on 28th July and hope to get in to top 10. Interestingly, we were working on solving financial illiteracy in a school for one of our MBA course assignment which turned as a business plan for the competition and it looks very promising.

Have not traveled anywhere last term and my term forward also looks as if it wouldn't allow time for me to even think about travel. I am doing an elective which is a study tour to Vietnam in September.

That's it from me. Thanks again for all of your support!

Hello All,
Wanted to update all of you about my MBA program and my performance so far. I have completed 4 core courses in my Term 1. Scored a GPA of 7.25 on a scale of 9. I am currently doing 4 more core courses and one elective course. The courses are built with so much depth and it has been a really enriching 3 months here. As I am getting back to school after 15 years, I initially thought it would be tough for me to get back to studies but the course design and the lecturers were so good that I thoroughly started to enjoy learning.

I also got a casual part time job here as a service person in food and beverage. I use the income to travel, re-pay a part of my tuition fee and other expenses.

I am thankful to everyone of you and will post more updates along my journey!
