Hi, my name is Sumaiya and I am 14. I live at Kranti NGO which helps daughters of sex workers to become agents of social change. I want your help because I just got admission to a school in America to study one year. It is a special school for teens who are smart but are very behind in school. The school helps students to catch up three years in just one year. I think I can study well but I have a hard time in school. 

Before I came to Kranti, I studied in many schools. I learned languages like Urudu, Telugu. My mother is a sex worker in Mumbai and when brought me to Mumbai, I studied Marathi and Hindi for a year Finally when I reached  Kranti I started learning English. All my life I studied in government schools and sometimes I finished 3rd grade but next year when I shifted to a different school I had to go back to 1st grade. I am 14 so I should be 8th grade now but I don’t even know many 5th grade mathematics.

I got admission in an American school with kids 12-18 years old, having different level of schooling. I will be comfortable because these kids are from different background and have faced different problems like me. In Indian school people tease me and discriminate because my mother is doing sex work so it is hard to go school and focus. So I want to study 1 year in this special school where I learn 3 years and fix my math and English. Will you help me catch up in school??
